William Lyons from Canada
Why did you choose Finland?
-One exchange student that I know was in Finland, and he said to me that Finland is a great country.
What excited you the most when you came to Finland?
- Nature in Finland. Finland is a very beautiful country.
Did you have any stereotypes about Finnish people or Finland?
-I thought that every Finnish girl would have blonde hair and blue eyes like Swedes.
What expectations do you have?
-I’d like to learn Finnish and make a lot of new friends.
What differences are there between Finland and Canada?
-Canada is a very cold place like Finland but at the same time very warm. Finns are very shy and Canadians are very pleasant, and they don’t usually care about small things. They are more polite, but Finns are very friendly too.
